Mike Stubbs on Forbes.com — Escape From Tarkov is, quite simply, better than it ever has been. With more content than ever, long promised features such as map to map travel finally arriving and a whole host of performance improvements, Tarkov has improved significantly over recent months. But for some reason, something still feels a little off. I’ve put hundreds of hours into Tarkov over the last few years and would say it’s probably my second most played game ever, after Dota 2. I write about the game through the good times and bad, so consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to all things Tarkov, but for some reason I can’t put my finger on why I have little drive to play this wipe.

Ub6 on Gaming Exodus — The first line on the Tarkov page says this, “Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and a story-driven walkthrough.” Yeah that about sums it up… hardcore and realistic.

Gal on Corrosion Hour — In development by the Russian game studio Battlestate Games, Escape from Tarkov (EFT) is a steady-paced first-person shooter with RPG elements. Reminiscent of titles such as America’s Army, this slower-moving tactical shooter has claimed a niche in the first-person shooter market that has long gone untapped.

Released in 2016 as an alpha-access title, EFT has been through many iterations of gameplay and settings. It stands firm enough to be enjoyed as it is, but the developers have goals that may see the title looking very different upon its official release.

In Depth Review and Summary

Olin — I myself am a big fan of this game and I will be trying not to be biased. Escape From Tarkov is large top of the market extraction shooter. Tarkov is a game made by a Russia game producer by the name of Battle State Games (BSG). The owner of BSG is a guy from Russia named Nikita Buyanov. He has produce the wonderful music and game ideas featured by Escape From Tarkov. This game includes an in depth tactical shooter experience that allows players to experience a detailed and very intense learning curve. Escape From Tarkov is an update based game that resets player accounts about 3 or 4 times in a year. Players (unless on PvE) experience an online interaction with every raid that connects players through the game itself. You can friend and play with people that you know. Players bring gear from their limited space storage area into a “raid/game,” where they are entered into post war ridden landscapes to collect more gear, task items, items, and other things needed throughout game function. If you are to die in a raid you can loose your equipment, unless you have it ensured and other players do not take it off your body. When you extract from a raid you will keep everything that you brought out with you on your character for management and changes in your storage/stash. This game supports great graphics but does run heavily on the components of your computer or PC.
